Candy Castle and a Ponytail

This year I decided I wanted to invite a few friends over for a little Christmas party. We had some food and hot chocolate and made graham cracker houses. My family makes these every year and I love doing them, so I thought it would be fun with friends.
We decided to make it a boy/girl competition. I'll show you the pics and you tell me who you think won!
Here is the boys' house.
Yes, it is sound and sturdy and huge and awesomely built. (Good thing we had 8 boxes of graham crackers!)
But as you can see, after they spent so much time making an awesome "mansion", they were too tired to decorate it! (This is the final product.)
The missionaries in our ward dropped by so they decided to make a house. They made an LDS Temple complete with an Angel Moroni.

And here is the girls' "Candy Castle". Ya we know it's awesome!

We had such a fun time and we think ours was the best!
These are my friends Ashley and Regan.

On a different note...Mylin's hair can kinda fit into a ponytail now! More like a little horn or something, but it is still cute! It makes her seem really old though, so it's a little hard to get used to.

This was at our ward Christmas party. First time rockin the pony.

And for your enjoyment, here is a picture of Mylin that cracks me up! She climbed into this tiny box and was laying down in it and she fit perfectly! It was so funny! By the time I got my camera out, she was crawling out of it, but it was pretty dang funny.

Mylin - 8 Month Update

Well I'm quite a bit late on Mylin's 8 Month post. We had some camera trouble. Anyways...
New this month:
She finally got a tooth! You can't really see it, but you can feel it. Can I just say teething is...fun. Or maybe the opposite of fun!
She's been eating more finger foods as opposed to baby food. My doctor told me to wait until she was 9 months before I gave her any finger foods and my friend's doctor said by 9 months her baby should be 100% on normal food. No baby food. Which doctor is right? Hmm...?
She bangs her head against the back of the high chair when she wants out.
She stood for like 2 seconds all by herself!
Anyways...that's all I can think of for now.
This was the best one I could get with her sign! It gets harder each month.

So you know the "Dimples" story? Well...Let's just say that Tim got a lot of grief over that. Everyone was calling him and giving him a hard time about it. Lots of comments and so on. So I for sure thought that he believed me about dimples. A few nights ago he was trying to make Mylin smile and he started freaking out. "Her dimples! They are almost gone! They don't look as big as normal. Do they?? Look at her dimples. Are they getting smaller?!" Guys, he was completely serious! I guess only time will convince him that her dimples are here to stay!

She is into everything. She climbed into this box and stood on the box inside of it to get something off the couch. Smarty-pants! Haha!

My mom made this little nativity magnet set thing for the fridge and it is Mylin's favorite toy right now. She will go sit by the fridge and pull all the figures off. Entertains her forever.

So there is her 8 Month update. Better late than never!

Thanksgiving Weekend...

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. My parents and my sister and her family were able to come out to California for the Thanksgiving weekend. I have more pictures of Thanksgiving and stuff, but they are on a different memory card, so I might post more later. We ate lots of good food (Our turkey was delicious! Thank you Food Network!) and had lots of fun and went to the beach every day.
I think my favorite part about Thanksgiving weekend was watching my nephew Koy see the ocean. It was his first time seeing the ocean and I have NEVER seen anyone more excited than he was! He was like beaming the whole weekend. The water was freezing and no one would get in and then there would be Koy running full blast for the water. He was in heaven!
It was actually pretty chilly, so Mylin is all bundled up.

Mia wasn't quite sure about the sand.

We went to one beach that had a park right on it. The kids loved it because the park had a zipline. Look at the view from the park. It's awesome!

One day we went out to the Santa Monica Pier with the Ferris Wheel and everything. That was pretty fun. Except that I got sick the day everyone came (lost my voice 100%. That has never happened to me before. It's finally coming back but it was all the way gone for about 5 days. It was awful!)

My parents...

Here's the gang! Not complete without Rusty the dog!

Dimples

A few days ago Tim and I were talking and this is how our conversation went...

Tim: I'm gonna be so sad when Mylin loses her dimples.

Me: Huh?

Tim: You know, when her dimples go away.

Me: Say what?? Umm..Why would her dimples go away?

Tim: Because only babies have dimples. Because they have baby fat. Duh!

Me: Okayyy. So you're saying that only babies have dimples? You have never seen an adult with dimples?

Tim: Nope. Adults don't have dimples. (Looking at me as if I am crazy.)

Me: You know your sister Amanda...have you ever looked at her?

Tim: Uh yeah. Why?

Me: Do you not realize your sister has like the best dimple in the world?

Tim: Amanda doesn't have a dimple.

Me: OH MY GOSH! Are you serious? How could you not know your sister has a dimple? Adults have dimples too! She's not going to grow out of her dimples!

Tim: Really? Amanda has a dimple? Are you sure?

Me: Ya. Positive.

Me: See? Amanda is a grown-up and she still has her dimple!

Bruises

Since we haven't done anything too exciting lately, I thought I would just post a few pictures I have taken of Mylin lately. Tim and I have been busy preparing for a Dating/Chastity Fireside we had to do for the youth in our ward. It was last night. It went great and I am SOOO glad it's over!
Here is Mylin just hanging out on the chair.

So Mylin was taking a nap and I heard her start talking so I went to go get her out, and she was just chillin in the corner of her crib, with her arm resting on the bumper, playing with her sock. For some reason it was so funny to me! I ran out and got the camera and she was still just kickin back! But the reason she looks a little crazy is because she just woke up!

Mylin is in love with her puffs. Here, her little cheeks were full of puffs.

Like I said in the last post, Mylin is pulling herself up on everything. What's funny is that she is ALWAYS on her tip-toes.

And of course with standing up, there is a lot of falling down! On her forehead is her first bruise from falling down. (She's in the tub after she had a blowout diaper all over Tim. It was his first experience with getting pee/poop on him and he did not handle it too well! It was pretty hilarious!)

I'm Still Standing...

Mylin has started standing. Not by herself, but she pulls herself up on everything. She is into everything! She is no longer content to just crawl all over the floor. She loves to be standing! She is getting too big! We had to lower her crib on Saturday because I went to get her from her nap and she was just standing there looking over the crib.
Like most babies, she loves to help with the dishwasher. As soon as I open the dishwasher or the fridge, she is right there!

Also a fun toy...her trash can. Yuck. She likes to pull it down and roll it. Nice. Especially when it is full of trash!

Just a random picture...Tim was sharing his fruit popsicle with Mylin. She LOVES popsicles!

First Halloween

Well here are some pictures of the cutest little witch. We couldn't decide what we wanted Mylin to be for Halloween, but then we saw this hat and decided she would be a witch. This hat was actually made to be like a sexy adult hat, but with some alterations, it works perfect for a baby! She did great with keeping the hat on. She never once tried to take it off! And she was in her costume all day, so that is pretty impressive that she kept it on. The people at the grocery store loved her! We bought the onsie and the rest of it I made. We did go to our ward party, which was fun, but we didn't take any pictures. Tim and I didn't dress up this year. This is the first time in like 5 years I haven't dressed up, but I simply forgot to find a costume for me!

She fell over right when I was taking this picture, but look how blue her eyes are! They are just beautiful!

Here Mylin is in her super cute Halloween shirt. Thanks Regan and Rylan for the shirt!

Harvest Festival & Pumpkin Patch

So I made this post like 2 weeks ago and forgot to post it, so here it is. I'm gonna post pictures of Halloween hopefully today. Anyways....A few weekends ago, we went to a pumpkin patch with our friends. They had a live band and hay rides and pumpkin pie and yummy food. There was this pumpkin catapult thingy that launched pumpkins really far while trying to hit some targets. That was fun to watch.

There were rows and rows of sunflowers, but they were all dead except for this bunch!

Mylin hangin out with her friend.

Then the weekend before last we went with the same friends to a Harvest Festival. Just say the words "festival" or "booths" and I am so there. I'm a sucker for things like that. It was a craft festival so there were lots of really cool booths and things to buy and yummy food to eat. And there was Elvis walking around on stilts and a ventriloquist Michael Jackson.

There was a little place to take pictures, so of course we had to stop to take some. For some reason Mylin was hugging this pumpkin. I don't know why, but it was funny! She just sat there for like 2 minutes, just frozen, hugging the pumpkin. (It was pretty cold and rainy, hence the hat.)

Standing on a wagon. The dads were holding onto them.

And here we are. Ohh...I just realized Tim and I are wearing Christmas colors along with the wagon in the back. Oops!

Check back later for some pictures of a cute little witch!
