Surprise!

I have been planning Mylin's birthday party for a while (which we had on Saturday. MANY pictures of that to come soon.) and I have been bugging my brother and pretty much everyone to come for her birthday. I just wanted some family to come. But I knew it was kinda unrealistic to ask anyone to come because it is a long way for a little birthday party. Soon it was apparent that no family would be able to make the trip. I was bummed. And a little homesick. But back to my brother...so he told me they wouldn't be able to come because of money and he couldn't take off work. Okay. I completely understand that. But then, the week before Mylin's party, they went to Mexico. Not cool! So I was a little annoyed at Nathan that he would go to Mexico but not come see us! Then on Thursday Nathan calls me and is telling me all about how this weekend (the weekend of Mylin's party) he and Kalli were going to Vegas with some friends and they got a great deal on hotel rooms and blah blah blah....I was FURIOUS! I was like...just come here if you have work off! It will be perfect. Just come. And he was like...No, I'm just gonna go to Vegas with my friends. I was soooo mad at him! I call Tim and I'm like...my brother is so selfish. Come to find out, my brother and his wife and my mom bought tickets to fly out for Mylin's birthday like 2 months ago! And while I'm complaining to Tim, my brother is in the backseat dying laughing. (Tim picked them up from the airport.) Anyways...sorry this is so wordy. But they came for Mylin's party and we had a great time! (And I am probably never gonna live down the "selfish" remark.)

On Friday, we decided to go to Solvang.

Gav got a cool new hat and a camo backpack.

They loved playing in this fountain. Mylin kept trying to climb in.

My favorite picture of the day. This is outside of a shoe store. Of course we had to go to the beach.

Mylin had such a fun time playing with her cousin.

Thanks mom and Nate and Kalli and Gavin for coming for Mylin's birthday. We had such a fun time and we miss you already!

Happy First Birthday!!!

Today my baby is one year old. It is insane to me how fast time flies. I have been quite nostalgic all week, thinking of when Mylin was born. I can't really remember life without her. She has made my life infinitely better.

Since it is her birthday, I thought I would share a few pictures of when she was born so you can see how much she has grown.
So sweet.

Now...twelve months later! Still sweet, but full of so much attitude!

This picture was from this morning right when she woke up. I decorated the house with balloons and streamers and she was kinda unsure about it.

After a little bit, she loved it! She was pulling all the streamers down and trying to hold like 4 balloons at a time.

Here are just a few pics from this past month. (Guys...I have taken over 3,500 pictures of Mylin since she has been born!!! Wow. Kinda embarrassing.)
She is such a funny girl. She's been putting these sunglasses around her neck and she thinks she is so clever!

This is her favorite toy right now! She will walk around exactly like this for most of the day. One arm in. One arm out. It's hilarious.

I let her try to feed herself the rest of her oatmeal one morning. Not such a good idea.

This is probably my favorite picture of Mylin right now.

Happy birthday Mylin! We love you so much and we are so grateful you are in our lives!

Princess Day at the Zoo

Last week it was Princess Day at the Santa Barbara Zoo, so of course we had to go! "The joys of having a girl" Tim said. They had a bunch of girls dressed up as princesses and had lots of fun crafts and booths set up. (Apparently all of the proceeds went to Save The Frogs.) Princesses. Frogs. Clever. The zoo was overrun with little girls dressed up as princesses! SO cute!
Anyways, we had a great time. The weather was perfect and the zoo was beautiful. Super small but really pretty. Mylin was cutting her top tooth (I know I wrote that like 2 months ago. It never came! Haha! She now finally broke her third tooth!) and she was OUT of it. It was weird. She was like comatose the whole day. Not crying. Not smiling. Just out of it.
I love this pic with the elephant!

The ONLY smile of the day.

Regan, Derrick, and Rylan.

Pirates.

Sitting with the princesses.

I love Rylan's face in this pic!! She was so scared of the frog. Mylin wasn't impressed.

Disneyland

We went to the "Happiest Place On Earth" on Tuesday! We had so much fun. My friend Cami and her husband Nate and their little baby Jane (if you remember--she is one of the girls Mylin took pictures with last year in their tutus) came from Tennessee just to visit us! (Yes, from TENNESSEE. So my dear brother Nathan...stop making up excuses to not visit us.) Okay...so maybe they didn't come just to visit us, but they were still able to stay a night with us and we spent the next day at Disneyland together.

Our day started off a little rocky...and early! Cami and I stayed up til after midnight the night before just talking and we had to wake up at 4:30 in order to leave by 5:30 so that we could beat the LA traffic. So we were pretty tired. And then we had camera problems and forgotten shoes. But finally we made it to Disneyland!

This was walking into Disneyland. Mylin was super excited if you can't tell!

Here is Cami, Jane, and Nate.

We were able to go on a bunch of rides. Tim and I would go on a ride while Cami and Nate watched the girls, and then we would switch. One time while Cami and Nate were riding a ride, we saw Buzz Lightyear and decided to get a picture with him. I went to set Jane down next to Buzz and she started FREAKING out! She was screaming her head off and crying and then just held on to me so tight and hid her head. It was sooo sad but quite hilarious! Mylin, on the other hand, was trying to climb onto Buzz! So we ended up just holding the girls for a picture.

This is the only picture I got of the two girls together. They both were walking all over so it was hard to get a picture.

Sweet little Jane.

Mylin in the stroller.

Mylin's favorite ride by far was "It's a Small World"! Her eyes were huge and she was staring at everything! It was pretty awesome seeing how excited she would get.

We went on so many rides. I actually prefer the rides where Mylin could go rather than the upside down roller-coasters. I don't handle roller-coaster rides too well!

She really was having fun, I swear!

She loved chasing the birds! Notice her cute Mickey Mouse outfit!? I'm not a huge character fan, but she had to have something Mickey to wear! I found this outfit for 10$ at the outlet mall. What makes it even better was that they were selling this exact same outfit inside Disneyland for 30$! Score.

By the end of the day, the girls were exhausted! Jane got a decent nap. Mylin only slept for 30 minutes the entire day! She slept for a little bit during the Aladdin Musical show we watched, but then it got too loud and woke her up. But for only sleeping 30 minutes, she did awesome!

Let's just say Disneyland was awesome!!!
