Halloween Time

We had a fun Halloween week. One friend invited us over for Halloween crafts and lunch (mummy hot dogs, etc...). Mylin painted a pink Frankenstein.

The next day a different friend invited us over for a Carmel Apple party. It was set up really cute with an apple station, a caramel station, and a topping station.

Mylin loved it.

(I think Kale might be allergic to grass. His eyes get all swollen whenever he's near it.--Still cute though!)

We also had our ward Trunk-Or-Treat, which was fun. Mylin loved getting all that candy and keeps asking if we can go "trick-or-treating tomorrow"! We had some friends over to carve pumpkins. Mylin and I did a kitty cat pumpkin and Tim did a mustache. I don't even know why.

For Halloween this year, Mylin was Little Red Riding Hood and Kale was the Big Bad Wolf. I was the Grandma and Tim was the Woodsman. My friend helped me make Mylin's costume. As soon as I knew what they were going to be, I knew I wanted to go down by the library to take pictures of them in the "woods".  They turned out really cute! We took these Halloween evening. Then we went with some friends trick-or-treating and then we went to another friends Halloween party that night! Lots of parties and lots of fun! (I didn't take any pics of the party, but it was really, really cute!)

Wedding-Part Two

Here are just a few pics from my little brother's wedding reception in Eagar. I only took a few pictures because Candice's sisters are photographers and they had the picture taking covered! If you want to see some good pictures from both receptions, check out her sister's blog
And if you are wondering where my other brother is during this reception, they couldn't come. Kalli was days away from having her baby! (He was very stubborn and wouldn't come out while I was there. I was there for 2 weeks and he came like 3 days after I left!)

My dad made this frame with the curtains and chandelier. He had worked on it for weeks. The morning of the reception, they were lowering it with a crane thing and it fell and broke into tons of pieces! But with some help, they were able to fix it.

While we were in town, we were able to make it to the blessing of our other new nephew, Boston!

Wedding- Part One

A month ago my little brother Spencer got married. The wedding was wonderful. I went with the kids a week earlier to hang out with family and not have to do so much driving in one weekend.  It was a good idea, but within ten minutes of being at my sister's house, Kale started getting sick. (Fever, runny nose, cranky). That night he didn't fall asleep until six in the morning. Then Mylin woke us up at 7:30. So that was a long day. The next night Kale was up like all night and then Mylin woke up for good at 4:50. Then the next night Mylin had night terrors all night (I finally woke my mom up at three to take her). So the first three nights I was at my sisters, I had maybe 5 hours of sleep. Kale still had a fever. Then Mylin got a fever. I was tired beyond belief. The day after the wedding, I lost my voice completely. So it was a rough trip, but we were still able to do some fun things. I was able to go through the Temple when Candice got her endowments. We went to her Bridal Shower. We went to the wedding and two receptions. So it was a fun time.

The happy couple!

 My brother Nate.

My whole family.

In between the wedding and the reception, we went swimming at a hotel and I liked this picture of Kale with both of my grandmas.

This was at the reception in Mesa. It was held at the Wright House, which is so beautiful.

This is my favorite picture of the whole trip, I think! I just wish Kale would have been in there, but they were just sitting like that and I knew if I ran to get Kale, the moment would be gone.

The Bridesmaids.

The Groomsmen. Apparently Nate wanted to do his own pose!

Mia had worn herself out dancing.

I have pictures of the second reception that I'll post later.

Kale - 8 Months

Well, I'm finally getting around to doing Kale's 8-month update. These pics are from Tim's phone because my camera was still in AZ. (I have it back now! Yay!)

I get the weekly baby update emails that tell you what your kid should be doing that week. I laughed out loud when I read the 8 month one.
It said, "As your baby's muscles are becoming stronger, he's apt to lunge forward onto all fours from a sitting position. He may go into a "pre crawl" exercise, rocking back and forth on hands and knees with his trunk parallel to the floor."
I know all kids develop at different times--Mylin is/was slow on talking, etc....but both she and Kale are pretty fast developers when it comes to physical things. The reason I laughed was because Kale had been all out crawling for like 3 months when I read that.

Anyways...he's a great crawler. He's been walking along furniture for a while and I'm afraid he will be walking sooner rather than later. He still sleeps horribly. He's a pretty happy baby. People always think he's older than he really is.

So here are a few pics of him.

I know this is blurry, but I think he looks so cute in his bow-tie. My friend Kari, who made him that cute hat, also made him these adorable bow-ties and I love them! We always get compliments every time he's wearing one of them!
