A Late Thanksgiving

My parents and my sister and her family came out to visit us for Thanksgiving this year. My parents and Koy came Wednesday afternoon and we headed straight to the Dog Beach. My parents brought their Airedale dog Rusty, so we had to go to the part of the beach the was designated for dogs. It was actually pretty fun to see all the dogs jumping in the water.

My sister and the rest of them got here late Wednesday night. Thursday we had dinner. It was yummy and I was pleased with how everything turned out!

We went to the beach again that night.

The next day we went to the tide-pool beach in Newport. It worked out perfect because we went right at low-tide so we were able to see a bunch of ocean creatures! It was a pretty foggy day and the waves were huge. The kids had a lot of fun playing in the water.

We stopped by Balboa Island on our way home so that Lindsey could get her chocolate covered frozen banana!

Kale's First Thanksgiving!

This is one of my favorite pictures of Mylin ever. I think it is so cute!

Mom and Dad--

It was so foggy at the beach and the waves were HUGE! I was afraid Blake and Koy were going to get  swept away when I was taking their pictures!

Having fun with cousins.

Mylin

*Prepare for a long post! *

I thought I would do a little update on Mylin. Mylin is turning into such a big girl. She is talking so much more and is really sweet. She is super, super active and in to everything.  The other day I couldn't find her and she was hiding from me. On top of the refrigerator. She is seriously such a handful! She was also walking across the stove the other day to get a steak knife because she needed to cut her banana. She is constantly climbing up and walking across her bookshelf when she is supposed to be napping. She is always climbing on something. She likes to turn the laundry baskets upside down and put them on top of my bed and try to stand on them. Sometimes she tries to put a chair on top of the laundry basket on top of my bed and stand on it. I swear if we make it to her fifth birthday without a broken bone, I will be amazed!

Mylin preferred method of going down the slide at the park is headfirst. On her back.

She is finally tall enough to ride on this roller coaster in Toon Town at Disneyland and she LOVED it! She rode it the first time with Tim and had her hands up almost the whole time! Then I rode with her and she was laughing and when we got done, she was like "Again, again!" So Tim went with her again! She's a fan. We can't wait until she's taller to go on more rides.

She has been in a little dance class since September and had her little recital in December. She was the youngest one there by like 6 months but most were at least a year older. Her attention span was not that long, but she had fun. Her teacher, Miss Marci, does this thing where the girls do a slide step and she claps a pattern. One day Mylin was out playing and she was doing the slide and saying "slide, slide" and then she came up to me and said, "Mom. You go clap, clap!"- She knew I was supposed to clap when she did that!

This was from her Christmas Dance Recital. Their main dance was to Here Comes Suzy Snowflake. It was so fun to watch her. She was doing her own thing for most of the recital, but it was still cute!

Now that she's talking, she's making me laugh all the time. A while back Tim was telling her goodnight and this is how it went:
Tim: I love you Mylin.
Mylin: I love you too.
Tim: I love you more.
Mylin: I love mommy more!

The next night:

Tim: I love you Mylin.
Mylin: I love you too.
Tim: Do you love me a lot?
Mylin: No I love mommy a lot!
Tim: Do you love me a little?
Mylin: No. I love Kale a little!

But today it went like this: "I love mommy more. I love Kale a lot. I love daddy a little!" - Tim feels better now that he's getting included because he's been left out for like a month!

She's always saying, "Two minutes." She wants to play for two minutes, go to the store in two minutes, etc.

She loves hot chocolate, pasta, bananas, apples, 'elmo' (oatmeal!), dunker eggs, and that's about it. She hates meat, but that's not new. She's never really liked meat.

She's been potty trained since October. She actually picked it up pretty quickly. The first two days were AWFUL. After the third day, she didn't have any accidents for three weeks. Then when we had visitors, she had a ton of accidents (one at Disneyland while I was changing Kale's diaper and she was standing by the toilets and just peed everywhere. I was trying to clean her up, the pee up, holding Kale, and my stroller was far away with Tim's mom, so I had to run across a restaurant place with Kale and Mylin (Who had no pants on)  and holding her pee clothes. It was great.) But she does really good and usually never needs reminders.

She loves to sing the ABC's, Jingle Bells, and Twinkle Twinkle. She's starting to count pretty good.

She loves Christmas lights, Mickey Mouse, painting her toes, wearing skirts, playing with friends. and reading books.

She is a tough girl. We were having dinner at a friends house and she was running around with the kids and she ran right into a bookcase. She cried for like one second and then was off running again. I didn't think anything of it because she was off playing and didn't act like it hurt at all and then after a few minutes my friend was like, "We should probably check out Mylin's head because she hit pretty hard". So we looked and she had this huge bump on her head! We iced it for a while and she was fine, but the bump stayed around for a while.

Kale -10 Month

*These posts are out of order. Since I'm so far behind, I'm just trying to post whatever I can! *

I can't believe my little man is 10 months old. He's such a happy, chill little guy. He took his first step the day before Thanksgiving. It was cool because my dad and Tim were able to see it. It was lame because I didn't get to see it! I was making up some beds in the other room and I missed it! Seriously I spend like all day every day with this kid and I missed it! He's taken a few more steps since then and he's getting closer to walking.

He is constantly pushing things around and walking with them.

He is a climber like Mylin and is already climbing up on Mylin's bed all by himself.

He is honestly the worst sleeper ever. Seriously I cannot get this kid to sleep. The last four days I haven't been able to get him to sleep at night unless I'm holding him. I'll put him in his crib and he will scream and scream and scream and then I pick him up and he will fall asleep in seriously two seconds. And then I'll set him down and he will wake up and scream forever. I don't even know what to do. Thank goodness for the Lifetime Christmas movies because I pretty much end up holding Kale until like 2 in the morning because I don't know what else to do. He also won't nap unless I'm holding him or in the car. Any tips you have on how to get a kid to sleep, please let me know!

He had done pretty good with the Christmas Tree. He tried pulling down the ornaments at first, but after the first day, he pretty much leaves it alone.

He loves to eat and will out eat Mylin most of the time. However, he recently started throwing up again. I don't know what that's about.

Anyways, we sure love this little guy.

He is such a happy little guy. And a total mama's boy, which I love!

One day I will get a decent picture of the two of them. Maybe.

Not happy that I took a picture of her.

Visit from the Woolf's

Tim's mom and his sister Linde and her family came to see us back in October. We had so much fun with them. We all went to Disneyland the first day. Kason had knee surgery a few weeks before so he was in a wheelchair which worked well for us because we were able to get to the front of all the lines! The second day Linde, Colleen, the little kids, and I went to Disneyland again. Tim and Luke and the older kids went to Knotts Berry to ride some bigger rides. (They were going to go to Six Flags, but it was closed that day.) Of course we hung out at the beach as well. We sure had fun and we hope they come visit us again soon!

Kale- 9 Months

I'm clearly a month late posting this. I'm having problems with the pictures. My blog says it is full. I don't know why it's working now. So I'll be playing catch-up until it won't let me add any more pictures again!

Anyways....When Kale turned 9 months, we had his appointment. His stats were:

Weight: 21 lbs 4 oz - 60%
Height:   29 3/4 in. -  85%
Head: 18 1/4 in. - 60%

He's gone down in his percentages, but he's still a big kid. At his appointment, they told me that he would be getting more teeth any day now. A month later and he still just has his two bottom teeth.

He is such a strong baby. Like seriously strong. He likes to flap his hands and sometimes he hits me in the face on accident and it is honestly like a full on slap in the face. It hurts!

He is such a snuggle bug.  In fact, he won't sleep at all unless you are holding him. He will scream and scream and scream if I put him in his crib. I will pick him up and he will fall asleep in one second. Then if I set him down, he will just wake up and scream. Any ideas on what to do about this? I love that he loves to snuggle, but it would be nice if he would sleep!
