The Nice Thing About California

The best thing about living in California is that we live super close to the beach. On Saturday it was the nicest day since we've lived here. The weather was perfect and there was no wind. We decided to go to the beach with some friends and their little daughter.
Mylin loved eating the sand! We had to keep washing her mouth out.

Here are Mylin and Rylan playing in the sand. (Yes their names are pronounced exactly the same except one starts with M and the other with an R. It gets confusing!)

Even though the weather was so nice, the water was FREEZING! I was a wuss and didn't even get in to me knees. Everyone else went all the way in.

Maybe...

Here are just a few pictures of Mylin.

Hmmm. Here's a thought. Maybe if I stopped posting pictures of Mylin on here, then our families would miss her and then come out to California to visit us! I think this could work...!

Mylin was playing with her stuffed animals, so I decided to just put her in the basket with them. It was kinda funny.

She is definitely mobile now. We were playing with some of her toys in her room and she worked her way to the books and started pulling them all down! Fun times!

Vegas

That possum picture seriously grosses me out, so I'm writing another post so I don't have to look at it any more. (And now I am always peeking out the door to make sure the possum isn't there before I step outside. Nasty.)

Anyways, over Labor Day weekend, we went to Vegas to see Tim's sister and her family (Thanks Amanda, Kevin, and Jordin for letting us stay with you! You guys are awesome!) and to meet up with some friends from Utah. Meredith, Steve, and Hadley.

We wanted to get together and Vegas was in the middle of California and Utah. We had lots of fun. We went to Caesar's Palace and watched a little show thingy.

Hadley and Mylin by the aquarium.

Tim, Meredith, and Steve all love their Coke, so of course we had to stop by the Coke Factory. They had this setup of samples of the different Cokes of different countries. I don't like Coke anyway, and all of these were just nasty! Like REALLY gross.

You can't go to Vegas and not eat at a buffet. My favorite part? The dessert!

We also went and toured Ethel M's chocolate factory where they had delicious samples. I'm not kidding when I say they had the best peanut brittle I have ever had in my entire life. I don't really love peanut brittle, but seriously....this was ridiculously good!

After the chocolate factory, we walked around a botanical garden.

We did other things, but I wasn't very good at taking pictures. Hence the reason why we didn't get any pictures of all six of us. But we had a great time!

Hangin Out

Lately we have just been hanging out. Just like this nasty little possum that was hanging on the archway by our door.

Mylin-5 Months

5 Months...Sheesh. Mylin has changed so much this month, it seems. This was the only decent picture with the month sign that I could get of her this month. Now she knows that there is something there and so she was trying to play with it the whole time!
This picture makes me laugh because she looks like she just got caught doing something wrong.

Her crying face is pretty funny too. Sad, but so cute!

She's like Michael Jordan with her tongue.

She loved playing with this ball. She thought it was awesome. And don't worry...I do have shorts on. And also don't worry because I did not wear those socks out in public.

Mylin went for a bike ride for the first time...

She loved it!

She rolls over both ways now! The other day she was on the ground rolling from front to back to front to back nonstop. She rolled over 8 times in one minute! When she finally stopped rolling over, she spit up everywhere! Motion sickness, I guess.

And she sits up all by herself! For about 8 seconds. Then she falls over. We're workin on it!
