Mylin - 7 Month Update

Seven months.

I know Mylin has changed a lot this month, but my mind is blank right now! She has started refusing things and pushing things away. She doesn't have any teeth yet, but she has been so cranky from teething I'm sure they'll be coming in soon.

She likes to take things from me and laugh about it. She wasn't feeling really well for a few days so I took her to the doctor and she weighed 16lbs 1 oz. Not a huge jump from her 6 month appointment where she weighed 15 lbs 15 oz, but she's still getting bigger everyday. She's a total mama's girl, which I love!

Faces

I figured out how to do this! I've been wanting to do a collage thing of the different faces she makes, and here one is! So...here are lots of pictures of Mylin's face! She normally opens her mouth, but she was not wanting to make very many different faces at the time.

Shoes.

This week has been quite uneventful. Mylin wasn't feeling awesome, so we have just chilled at home. We were going to go on a date tonight. Some friends offered to watch Mylin for us because we haven't gone out with just the two of us since Mylin was born. So I got it all lined up. Then Tim said, "Why don't we just go out to eat and bring Mylin with us?" Ha! Kinda defeats the purpose of going on a date without her! So we'll probably go out on a date tonight...with Mylin!

Anyways...here are just a few random pictures I had on my camera. We had been looking for a high chair forever and I couldn't find one I liked that was a decent price. My friend knew I was looking for one and saw this one at a yard sale and called me. 35$! I was pretty excited.

Mylin can't really wave yet. But she is in this pic! (Yes, she is messy. We have a hard time feeding! She likes to grab the spoon and then wipe food all over her face. We're working on it!)

Sometimes Mylin really doesn't want to take a nap, even though she is so exhausted. She cries and pulls down her bumper and stares at the door. Funny/sad/cute all rolled into one!

Mylin was helping me in the kitchen. Yesterday was like the first time she has worn shoes. Her feet are really fat! I bought 2 SUPER cute pairs of newborn shoes and her feet never fit. They were too fat! But she can fit in these ones. With enough squeezing.

Crawling Pumpkins

The other day I was driving home and I saw this awesome pumpkin patch with HUGE pumpkins so we decided to go and take some pictures of Mylin with the pumpkins. (Sorry this blog is always all about Mylin! She's just the highlight of our lives!)

The lighting isn't the best on these pictures...too much shadow. But they still turned out pretty cute.

Like I said in the last post, Mylin has been crawling for almost a month now. I took this little video on my phone and I hope it works. I've never done a video before, so I guess we will see.

6 Months

Half a year....I cannot believe she is already 6 months! (And a week and a half. I'm slow getting this one done.)

She is getting so big.
Since her 5 month post she has:

Started eating in a high chair. (Finally! It took us forever to get a high chair.)

Started eating more veggies and fruits. (Loves everything except Banana Mango. Won't eat it.)

Started reaching for me!

And her biggest accomplishment? She started crawling! She has been crawling for about 3 weeks now and she is all over the place. She's a pretty fast little thing!

For her 6 month appointment her stats were:

Weight: 15 lbs 15 oz (50%)

Height: 26 1/2 (75%)

Head: 16 3/4 (50%)

These pictures are getting harder and harder to take! I took about a million where she was grabbing the sign and trying to eat it. You don't even want to know what kind of embarrassing things I do to get her to smile and not eat the sign for the picture.

I wanted to do a little photo shoot thing for her 6 month. She just woke up from a nap and was kinda out of it, so smiles were hard to come by. But I still think they turned out pretty cute!

The Nice Thing About California

The best thing about living in California is that we live super close to the beach. On Saturday it was the nicest day since we've lived here. The weather was perfect and there was no wind. We decided to go to the beach with some friends and their little daughter.

Mylin loved eating the sand! We had to keep washing her mouth out.

Here are Mylin and Rylan playing in the sand. (Yes their names are pronounced exactly the same except one starts with M and the other with an R. It gets confusing!)

Even though the weather was so nice, the water was FREEZING! I was a wuss and didn't even get in to me knees. Everyone else went all the way in.

Hmmm. Here's a thought. Maybe if I stopped posting pictures of Mylin on here, then our families would miss her and then come out to California to visit us! I think this could work...!

Mylin was playing with her stuffed animals, so I decided to just put her in the basket with them. It was kinda funny.

She is definitely mobile now. We were playing with some of her toys in her room and she worked her way to the books and started pulling them all down! Fun times!
